About Founder PUGE
Prama Ultra Global Enterprise is an educational institution focused on developing professional and academic skills across various sectors, including tourism, hospitality, plantation, and other fields. Born from the grand vision of a young man named Padu Putra Subadra, he was determined to break free from the generational fate of becoming a fisherman—a profession passed down from his ancestors to his father. For him, that path was not an option for his future. With a vision to pursue a career with greater economic prospects, he courageously took a different route, which became a turning point in his life. However, at the peak of his rapidly growing career, he felt a deeper calling—one far beyond merely breaking free from his family’s fishing lineage. This calling was not just about personal success or material wealth but about a broader responsibility. Driven by this newfound purpose, he began to reevaluate his life goals, embracing a more meaningful vision that would benefit not only himself but also society as a whole.
With a heavy heart and tears from his parents and three younger siblings, Padu was escorted to I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport to begin his career on the world’s largest cruise ship, Carnival Cruise Line, Miami, USA. This moment marked the beginning of his journey in the cruise industry, carrying the great hopes he had built for so long. Padu was determined. Even though his mother lovingly tried to persuade him to stay by offering an expensive motorcycle, the temptation was not enough to change his decision. In his family, traditional customs still strongly dictated that a son bore great responsibility to protect and continue the family’s legacy. These traditions emphasized that a male child should not be too far from home, especially for long periods. However, Padu had a more modern and open mindset. He believed that the world beyond his hometown offered greater opportunities for a better future. Pursuing a career abroad was his way of breaking the cycle of ancestral occupations and opening new horizons—not only for himself but also for his family. Padu’s career at Carnival Cruise Line in 1995 was remarkable.
Besides his dedication to his work, he also had a smart strategy to avoid unfavorable working conditions that might make him want to return home.
One such strategy was declining the position of Galley Steward, which was initially offered to him. He considered the role too physically demanding, as it involved washing cooking equipment, cleaning kitchen floors and surfaces, and assisting with food preparation when needed. His past experiences had taught him that these demanding tasks could be overwhelming for those starting a career on a cruise ship. Instead, he chose to work as an Assistant Waiter, a position that better suited his skills and made him feel more comfortable. Over time, he climbed the ranks to become a Senior Head Waiter.
Thanks to his hard work and dedication on the cruise ship, during his very first contract, Padu managed to renovate his family home and purchase a 4-are (400m²) plot of land—an outstanding achievement that marked the beginning of his success in the hospitality and tourism industry.
His previous experience made him realize that this heavy task could become a burden for those starting their careers on cruise ships. As an alternative, he chose to work as an Assistant Waiter, a position more suited to his abilities and one that made him feel more comfortable, eventually rising to the position of Senior Head Waiter. Thanks to his hard work and dedication on the cruise ship, during his first contract, Padu managed to renovate his family home and purchase an asset— A plot of land measuring 4 ares, a very proud achievement that marked the beginning of his successful journey in the hospitality and tourism industry. In 2008, Padu briefly partnered with a colleague to establish a business. However, since he lacked a strong foundation in that field, the partnership did not last long. After the business ended, Padu decided to return to working on a cruise ship and joined the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. In this company, his career peaked as a Team Leader, a stable position with lucrative earnings. At the height of his career, Padu was offered the position of Train the Trainer by the cruise company. His curiosity and desire to try something new led him to accept this challenge. He then traveled to East Lombok to train and develop the skills of young generations. His career as a Train the Trainer in East Lombok was highly successful—he managed to train around 1,600 students in the hospitality and tourism industry. Throughout this profession, Padu felt a calling to teach and mentor his students. He found joy in listening to their problems, providing guidance, and helping them reach their fullest potential.
Moved by His Calling In short, in 2017, after returning from Lombok, Padu wholeheartedly established an agency office on Jl. Kebo Iwa under the name PT Sukamulya Mandari Agung, serving as the branch head in Bali. However, feeling that the location was too far, he relocated the office to Sanur, specifically in the lobby of The Sandi Phala Resort. After just a year, he decided to move again to Siligita, Nusa Dua, where he rented an office under a five-year contract. He also invested IDR 800 million in the location. However, during the business permit process, he discovered that the building lacked an IMB (Building Permit), preventing the issuance of his business license. In 2019, the situation worsened due to the pandemic, which caused his business to stagnate. Additionally, the land he had been renting with plans to purchase was sold by the owner without his knowledge. Eventually, Padu relocated his office to its current location on Jl. Tunjung Sari 1 No. 10 Blok 1, Nusa Dua. This location was his own asset, initially a boarding house, which he later renovated into an office. In August 2023, Padu officially reopened and restructured his business by establishing PT Prama Ultra Global Enterprise, the legal entity behind Legacy International College. The company is led by I Wayan Padu as the Founder and President Director, I Made Soklat as the Chief Commissioner, and Ni Made Nariati, S.E., as the Director. Through his company, Padu and his team share the same vision: that Indonesian workers have great potential to join international companies. Padu strongly believes that his institution is not just about helping students achieve their dreams but also about equipping them with practical skills and real career opportunities. More importantly, he conveys a profound message to his students: After working abroad for 5 to 10 years, they should return to their hometowns, develop their homeland, and protect local land from external dominance. Through Legacy International College, Padu aims to prepare a generation of international workers who do not forget their roots and are encouraged to reinvest their knowledge and earnings into rebuilding their local communities. Once again, he emphasizes that success abroad should go hand in hand with giving back to one’s hometown.
